Upon arrival, we will start the day tour by visiting:
The Giza Pyramids Complex:
It is one of the most iconic and breathtaking historical sites in the world, located just outside Cairo. It’s home to three of the most famous pyramids: the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure. These massive structures were built as tombs for Egypt’s pharaohs over 4,500 years ago, and they continue to stand as a testament to the incredible engineering and architectural skills of ancient Egypt.
The Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops): This is the largest and most well-known pyramid. Originally towering at 146 meters, it’s still an awe-inspiring sight. Inside, you can explore the burial chamber and imagine the incredible effort it took to construct such a monumental structure without modern technology.
The Pyramid of Khafre: Slightly smaller than Khufu's pyramid, Khafre’s pyramid still has a bit of its original limestone casing at the top, giving it a unique appearance. It’s also home to the Great Sphinx, an enormous limestone statue with the body of a lion and the head of Pharaoh Khafre. The Sphinx is one of Egypt’s most famous landmarks and a must-see.
The Pyramid of Menkaure: The smallest of the three pyramids, but still an impressive sight. Surrounding it, you’ll find various tombs and statues, offering a glimpse into the funerary practices of the time.
The Valley Temple of Khafre: Close to the Sphinx, this temple is where ancient Egyptians performed mummification rituals. The temple is beautifully preserved, and you’ll see massive statues of Khafre that are still in great condition.
The Great Sphinx: This giant statue, with the body of a lion and the head of Pharaoh Khafre, has been a symbol of strength and mystery for centuries. It’s one of the most recognizable structures in Egypt and has a fascinating, almost mythical history.
The Giza Plateau itself offers stunning views of the surrounding desert and the distant city of Cairo. As you walk among these ancient wonders, you can feel the history surrounding you, and it’s easy to see why the Pyramids have been a source of wonder and mystery for centuries. It’s a place where you can truly connect with Egypt’s ancient past.
Enjoy your lunch meal at an oriental restaurant.
Tired?! Not now as it is the time of the fabulous:
Grand Egyptian Museum:
located just a short distance from the Giza Pyramids, is set to become one of the largest and most impressive archaeological museums in the world. It will showcase Egypt’s extraordinary history, with over 100,000 artifacts, including the complete collection of King Tutankhamun’s treasures, all on display together for the very first time. The museum’s design blends modern architecture with traditional Egyptian elements, offering visitors spacious galleries, interactive exhibits, and stunning panoramic views of the pyramids. With its innovative use of technology, the GEM promises to deliver an immersive experience that brings Egypt’s ancient past to life while connecting it to the present in a whole new way.
